Home Visits

House visits are only available for patients who are genuinely housebound because of illness or disability. Lack of transport or weather conditions are not reasons for home visits.

Whenever possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 am if you feel you require a home visit. A doctor or a nurse will phone you first to assess the issue and then decide whether a visit is clinically necessary. In some cases, telephone advice may be appropriate or the clinician might decide that hospital attendance is the best course of action.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
